Situation

Digital lenders have tremendously contributed to financial inclusion for the bottom of the pyramid-unbanked majority across the world. However, their images and reputation are yet to streamline in different markets globally. In a bid to establish and maintain the brand’s reputation, equity, association and establish it as a credible, responsible, and ethical digital lender, the top 10 global digital lending firm, partnered with us to develop and execute strategies in order to achieve the three public relations concerns in Kenya.

Approach

Tala’s approach is to ensure financial accessibility to those who need it the most responsibly and ethically. We first carried out research on the brand’s perception and credibility among a sample population of Kenyan consumers. We then created a road map towards building a credible and industry leader brand using local and international TVs, Print, Digital channels, and Radio.

Result

Gradually we are continuing to put the road map in practice as we expand our PR outreach onto various campaigns including MoneyMarch, #MyTalaStory, #SticknaTala, etc. Today Tala is one of the biggest lenders in Kenya and the industry leader with a credible and responsible footprint.
